ArtHouse Oakland

ArtHouse Oakland is a joint program of the City of Oakland Craft & Cultural Arts Department and California Lawyers for the Arts. ArtHouse Oakland is creating an infrastructure to address space issues facing artists and nonprofit arts groups in Oakland. We are focusing our efforts on a multi-layered approach which includes direct services to artists and arts organizations and the creation of exciting new art spaces.

ArtHouse Oakland Services include:

Database of existing and potential arts places in Oakland: Live/work, studio, rehearsal, organizational, performance and exhibition spaces for individuals and groups.

Assistance to artists and arts organizations seeking space: Emphasis is given to finding and securing spaces for sale or lease and making connections with real estate agents, brokers, lenders and funders.

Workshops and seminars: Educational programs geared to strengthen the knowledge base for Oakland artists and organizations. Please join us at our free Oakland Speaker Series on Securing Space for the Arts.
